A representative from Mnet stated, "Jang Geun Suk will not be participating in the show [Produce 101 Season 2] due to his busy schedule. We are currently looking for a male MC."
To top things off, Mnet is reported to face problems getting entertainment companies to join their second season featuring male idols. SM, YG, and JYP already stated that they will not participate in the second season. According to the report these companies have collectively agreed that sending their trainees to compete against other trainees that fail to match their own trainee producing systems to be pointless.
Due to all these issues, other significant entertainment companies such as Cube, Woolim, Starship and Big Hit Entertainment have followed the big three companies to leave Produce 101 season 2. What will happen to Produce 101 Season 2? We'll just have to wait and see how it goes...
