A woman's responsible for spreading rumors that Lee Seung-gi has a child, has been sentenced to a fine.
On June 2016, a rumor started about singer and actor Lee Seung-gi, saying that he was secretly fathering and raising a child with his former makeup artist. Furthermore, a picture of a woman who was believed to be the child’s mother went around and made the rumor seem even more realistic. At that time, Lee Seung Gi had already begun his mandatory military services and his agency strongly denounced the rumor, announcing that they would take legal action against the fabricator.
According to the report, a female employee (46) of a major Korean mobile carrier "A" was identified as the source of the rumor on January 30, 2017. She made up the story and spread it online. As a result, "A" has been fined 1 million won (about USD860) for defamation.
